The journey begins with a drive to the Rongai Gate, the starting point of your trek. Trekking through dense rainforests and diverse flora, you will cover approximately 8 kilometers, ascending gradually to reach Simba Camp. The landscape transitions from lush greenery to a more rugged terrain as you settle in at an altitude of about 2,650 meters. Temperatures vary, ranging from 20°C to 30°C during the day and dropping to 10°C at night.

Today’s trek covers about 5-6 hours, spanning a distance of approximately 6 kilometers. Moving through heather moorland, you ascend to the Second Cave campsite, located at around 3,450 meters above sea level. The landscape becomes more open, providing stunning views of the surrounding terrain. Temperatures begin to drop noticeably, reaching highs of 15°C during the day and dipping to 5°C at night

Continuing your ascent, you will trek for about 4-5 hours, covering approximately 5 kilometers. The trail takes you through alpine desert terrain, characterized by sparse vegetation and surreal rock formations. Third Cave, situated at an altitude of about 3,870 meters, offers a unique perspective of the mountain. Temperatures further decrease, with daytime temperatures reaching 10°C and nighttime dropping to around freezing point

Today involves a challenging hike of approximately 8-9 hours, spanning a distance of around 9 kilometers. Ascending to Kibo Hut, located at an elevation of approximately 4,700 meters, the landscape transforms into a barren lunar-like surface. You will rest here in preparation for the summit push. Temperatures become significantly colder, with daytime highs around 5°C and sub-zero temperatures at night

The most demanding day involves a midnight start for the summit ascent. You will trek through steep switchbacks and scree slopes, reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters), the highest point in Africa, as the sun rises. After celebrating your achievement, descend to Horombo Hut at around 3,700 meters, covering a total distance of about 15 kilometers. Temperatures fluctuate, with extreme cold at the summit and gradually warming up during the descent.
