Package itinerary
Distance: Approximately 18 kilometers (11 miles). Hours: 5-7 hours of hiking. Temperature: Ranges from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F). Description: Start the trek at Machame Gate, entering the rainforest. The trail gradually ascends through lush vegetation to Machame Camp, offering glimpses of the surrounding landscapes.

Distance: About 5 kilometers (3 miles). Hours: 4-6 hours of hiking. Temperature: Temperatures drop as you climb, averaging around 15°C to 20°C (59°F to 68°F). Description: Today’s trek traverses the steep ridge, providing spectacular views of Mount Meru and the Shira Plateau as you reach Shira 2 Camp, set amidst the moorland zone.

Distance: Approximately 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). Hours: 6-8 hours of hiking. Temperature: Becomes cooler as you ascend, ranging from 10°C to 15°C (50°F to 59°F). Description: Trek to Lava Tower, a striking volcanic formation. Descend to Barranco Camp through the stunning Barranco Wall, a challenging but rewarding climb.

Distance: About 5 kilometers (3 miles). Hours: 4-5 hours of hiking. Temperature: Cooler temperatures persist, ranging between 5°C to 10°C (41°F to 50°F). Description: Traverse through valleys and ridges, ascending to Karanga Camp with mesmerizing views of the surrounding landscape.

Distance: Approximately 4 kilometers (2.5 miles). Hours: 4-5 hours of hiking. Temperature: As you approach higher altitudes, temperatures drop further, ranging from 0°C to 5°C (32°F to 41°F). Description: Ascend to Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt. The landscape becomes more desolate, preparing you for the final ascent.

Distance: Summit ascent is around 5 kilometers (3 miles), descent to Mweka Camp is approximately 12 kilometers (7.5 miles). Hours: 7-8 hours to summit, 5-6 hours to Mweka Camp. Temperature: Varies significantly, from -10°C to -5°C (14°F to 23°F) at the summit. Description: The most challenging day. Summiting Uhuru Peak at sunrise is an awe-inspiring experience. Descend to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest.

Distance: Approximately 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). Hours: 3-4 hours of descending. Temperature: Gradually becomes milder as you descend.
