Package itinerary
The journey begins as we drive to the Rongai Gate, the starting point of our ascent. Trekking through lush rainforests, we traverse the Nale Moru village, reaching the Simba Camp. The first day's trek covers approximately 8 km, with varying landscapes from dense forests to expansive heathlands. Temperatures range from 20 to 25 degrees Celsius during the day, offering a pleasant introduction to the diverse ecosystems of Kilimanjaro.

Accommodations: Simba Campsite
Leaving the Simba Camp, we ascend through the moorland zone, catching glimpses of the stunning Kibo volcano. The trail covers around 6 km, with temperatures dropping to 10 degrees Celsius. The landscape transforms into a surreal expanse, and you will find yourself surrounded by the unique flora of Kilimanjaro. The Second Cave, our resting point for the night, offers a glimpse into the rugged beauty of the higher altitudes.

Today’s trek, spanning about 7 km, leads us through the striking alpine desert zone. The landscape becomes more otherworldly, with the stark beauty of Kilimanjaro revealing itself. Temperatures fluctuate between 5 to 15 degrees Celsius, providing a crisp, invigorating atmosphere. The Kikelewa Cave, nestled in the high-altitude wilderness, offers a sense of isolation and connection to the raw beauty of the mountain.

Continuing our ascent, we traverse the lunar-like landscape toward Mawenzi Tarn. Covering approximately 7 km, the journey exposes us to the grandeur of Mawenzi, Kilimanjaro's second-highest peak. Temperatures drop further to around 0 to 10 degrees Celsius, and the high-altitude environment intensifies. Mawenzi Tarn, surrounded by rocky outcrops, provides a surreal overnight experience beneath the stars.

The Mawenzi Tarn to Kibo Hut trek takes you through some of the most breathtaking landscapes on Mount Kilimanjaro. As you begin your journey from Mawenzi Tarn, located at an altitude of approximately 4,300 meters, you'll be surrounded by magnificent rocky formations and pristine alpine lakes. The trail ascends gradually, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and peaks

The trek from Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak, the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, is an exhilarating and challenging journey. The ascent is steep and demanding, but the views and sense of achievement make it all worthwhile.

The final leg of our journey involves descending through the moorland and rainforest zones. Covering about 27 km, the temperature rises gradually, creating a sense of returning to the familiar. Passing Mandara Hut and reaching Marangu Gate, you will relish the achievement and bid farewell to Kilimanjaro. Our team will transfer you back to Moshi or Arusha, where you can reflect on the incredible adventure.
