Package itinerary
Travel from Moshi/Arusha to the Londorossi gate, the starting point of your expedition. The day's trek leads you through dense forests, introducing you to the grandeur of the Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) campsite, a distance of approximately 10 km, taking 4-6 hours to complete. Expect temperatures around 25°C.

The trail ascends to the Shira 2 camp, offering glimpses of varying landscapes. Trekking approximately 8 km for 4-6 hours, you will witness temperature drops as the altitude changes, reaching around 15°C, with more open landscapes and captivating vistas.

Continue the journey to the Lava Tower and onward to the Barranco camp, covering about 10 km in 6-8 hours. The ascent to Lava Tower showcases surreal rocky landscapes. Temperatures drop further, averaging around 5°C, and the Barranco camp introduces unique challenges with its steep terrain.

A challenging stretch takes you from Karanga to Barafu Camp, covering around 4 km over 4-5 hours. The altitude intensifies, with temperatures dropping further to -5°C, and the landscape turns predominantly rocky as you approach the base camp.

The pinnacle day commences with a predawn start to reach Uhuru Peak, the summit point. Ascend through challenging terrain, overcoming steep sections, covering approximately 15 km round trip in 12-15 hours. Expect frigid temperatures as low as -10°C at the summit. After triumphantly reaching Uhuru Peak, descend to Barafu Camp and further down to Mweka Camp
