Package itinerary
Distance: Approx. 110 km Duration: 2-3 hours drive Temperature: 25-30°C The day begins with a scenic drive to Londorossi Gate, the starting point of your trek. After completing park formalities, start hiking through the lush rainforest of Kilimanjaro. The trail introduces you to rich biodiversity and impressive flora, leading you to Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp for overnight stay. Geographical Description: The initial trail passes through thick rainforests teeming with diverse plant species. As you ascend, the vegetation gradually changes, revealing unique flora adapted to higher altitudes.

Accommodations: Big Tree (Mti Mkubwa) Campsite
Distance: Approx. 10 km Duration: 5-6 hours trek Temperature: 15-20°C Leaving the rainforest behind, the trail ascends through heath and moorland zones. Witness stunning views of Shira Plateau as you reach Shira 2 Camp, situated on a scenic ridge. Geographical Description: The landscape transitions into open moorlands with scattered vegetation and expansive views of the surrounding plateaus and valleys.

Distance: Approx. 10 km Duration: 6-7 hours trek Temperature: 10-15°C Today's trek leads you to Lava Tower, a striking rock formation at 4,600 meters. Descend to Barranco Camp for the night, passing through the stunning Barranco Wall, a challenging yet thrilling climb. Geographical Description: The route offers a mix of rocky terrain and breathtaking vistas, with the Barranco Wall presenting an exhilarating scramble before descending to the valley below.

Distance: Approx. 5 km Duration: 4-5 hours trek Temperature: 5-10°C Embark on a steady climb through the alpine desert, crossing valleys and ridges. As you reach Karanga Camp, marvel at the spectacular views of the southern glaciers of Kilimanjaro. Geographical Description: The trail passes through a rugged alpine desert characterized by sparse vegetation, rocky terrain, and impressive views of the glaciers and surrounding peaks.

Distance: Approx. 4 km Duration: 3-4 hours trek Temperature: 0-5°C Continue your ascent towards Barafu Camp, the base for the summit push. The landscape becomes more desolate and inhospitable as you near the high camp. Geographical Description: The trail traverses a rocky and steep terrain, with the landscape transitioning into a barren alpine desert, providing a surreal atmosphere as you approach the base for the final summit attempt.

Distance: Approx. 15 km (round trip) Duration: 12-16 hours for the summit and descent to Mweka Camp Temperature: Varies (-10°C to 10°C) Begin the ascent in the early hours, trekking through the night to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, at sunrise. After celebrating your accomplishment, descend back to Barafu Camp for a brief rest before continuing down to Mweka Camp. Geographical Description: The trail to Uhuru Peak involves a challenging climb on steep and icy terrain, rewarded by the awe-inspiring view from the summit. The descent passes through various landscapes, from rocky slopes to moorlands and lush forests.

Distance: Approx. 10 km Duration: 3-4 hours trek Temperature: 10-25°C The final leg of the journey takes you through the dense rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your summit certificates. Bid farewell to your guides and crew before transferring back to Moshi. Geographical Description: The descent through the rainforest is filled with vibrant vegetation, offering a stark contrast to the higher altitudes experienced earlier in the trek.
