Distance: 120 kilometers from Moshi/Arusha to Londorossi Gate Hours: Approximately 3-4 hours' drive Temperature: Mild to warm (20-25°C) Landscape: Transition from urban setting to dense rainforest Description: After breakfast, we embark on a scenic drive to Londorossi Gate, the starting point of our trek. The journey unveils the lush rainforest, home to diverse flora and fauna. A trek to Mti Mkubwa camp allows for acclimatization amid the captivating forest ambiance.

Distance: 11 kilometers Hours: 5-7 hours Temperature: Variations from warm to cooler (15-20°C) Landscape: Gradual transition to moorland with heath and scenic views Description: Ascend through the forest, gradually revealing stunning views of Kilimanjaro. The trail leads us to the expansive Shira Plateau, where Shira 2 Camp sits amidst captivating moorland, offering panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape.

Distance: 10 kilometers Hours: 6-8 hours Temperature: Cooler with possible altitude fluctuations (10-15°C) Landscape: Alpine desert with unique rock formations Description: Trek through the alpine desert, passing the striking Lava Tower en route to Barranco Camp. The trail presents challenges but rewards with breathtaking sights of glaciers and the iconic Barranco Wall.

Distance: 5 kilometers Hours: 4-5 hours Temperature: Cooler at higher elevation (5-10°C) Landscape: Scenic views of valleys and stunning rock formations Description: Conquer the Barranco Wall and traverse through valleys to reach Karanga Camp, nestled in a picturesque setting. This shorter trek allows for rest and acclimatization in preparation for the summit push.

Distance: 4 kilometers Hours: 3-4 hours Temperature: Decreasing with higher altitude (0-5°C) Landscape: Alpine desert and rocky terrain Description: Ascend to Barafu Camp, the final base before the summit. The trail winds through the rugged alpine desert, offering dramatic views of the surrounding glaciers and the expansive landscape below.

Distance: Summit ascent (5 kilometers up, 5 kilometers down) Hours: 12-14 hours for the summit round trip; descent to Mweka Camp (3-4 hours) Temperature: Extremely cold at the summit (-10 to -20°C) Landscape: Glacial and rocky, leading to the iconic Uhuru Peak Description: The summit push begins in the early hours, navigating steep slopes and rocky terrain. As the sunrise graces the horizon, reach the Roof of Africa, Uhuru Peak. Descend to Barafu Camp for a brief rest before continuing down to Mweka Camp amid stunning scenery.
