Distance: Approximately 7km Hours: 4-5 hours Temperature: 20-25°C The journey commences as we drive to Londorossi Gate. From there, the trek begins through verdant rainforests, encountering diverse flora and fauna. The trail culminates at Mti Mkubwa, a campsite set amidst towering trees, providing an ideal setting for the first night's stay.

Distance: Approximately 10km Hours: 6-7 hours Temperature: 15-20°C Transitioning from the rainforest, the trail evolves into moorland, offering panoramic views of the Shira Plateau. The trek leads to Shira 1 Camp, nestled beneath the imposing Shira Cathedral, offering a mesmerizing sunset against the vast expanse.

Distance: Approximately 12km Hours: 6-8 hours Temperature: 5-10°C Ascending further, the trail leads to Lava Tower, a volcanic rock formation. Descending to Barranco Camp via the breathtaking Barranco Wall, hikers are rewarded with stunning views of the glaciated valley below

Distance: Approximately 4km Hours: 3-4 hours Temperature: 0-5°C The path gradually ascends towards Barafu Camp, the base for the summit push. Nestled on a rocky ridge, this campsite offers a strategic vantage point for the impending climb.

Distance: Summit ascent - Approximately 5km; Descent to Mweka Camp - Approximately 12km Hours: Summit ascent - 7-8 hours; Descent to Mweka Camp - 4-6 hours Temperature: -10 to -5°C (summit); 5-10°C (Mweka Camp) The summit attempt begins in the early hours, reaching Uhuru Peak as the sun bathes the landscape in a breathtaking glow. After savouring the triumph, descend to Barafu Camp and further to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest.
